WELCOME TO BLOOD-SUN
STORY
Note: Maybe write the actual story here? Or like tidbits and stuff.
The world of Bloodsun has seen many changes.
At first, it started as a fantasy/apocalyptic roleplay, where a band of vagabonds must defeat a Parasitic Monarch who cheated death one too many times and extended his rule farther than was prophasised. This made the god that overlooked their world angry. And so in revenge for not replacing the old king, the god sent a sandstorm to engulf and erase the land and everyone if the new ruler did not take the mantel in time.
That was the first iteration though, later on I would try to change the story but none of those ideas I had seem to fit. I saw that Bloodsun was, in one form or another- not what the fantasy stories I've read were like. So, foolishly, I tried to follow what Lord of the Rings did. I originally did not want to add elves because in my opinion, elves are boring! In every story I've seen-they were the model of a 'perfect' or 'regal' society. And I didn't want that, or at least, I didn't want the elves I added to Bloodsun to be like the other elves in fiction.
I was more interested in constructing the world more than I was writing the story that just happened to take place in Scorpiana.
But that wasn't the only reason I decided to change the story, I wanted to make the world of Scorpiana weird, like a bizzare alien planet corroded and lost in time. And I loved all the strange characters like Moseis and Buckethead (I miss him!).
I wish I didn't change so much of the story, but I wanted to thank The Owl House personally, because it was basically everything I wanted to do with Bloodsun. It was weird, it was bizarre--it was so spooky and jagged and it made me so happy, because it gave me hope for Bloodsun, I didn't have to smooth over the edges, it could be what it was! And the great thing is, it made me want to pick up this not-project again from the metaphorical shelf I placed it on.
The current story--is basically an updated version containing all of my favorite bits from the last iterations of Bloodsun. From the False Prophets, to the tower, to the angry god himself.
