WELCOME TO BLOOD-SUN

CREATION

No Joke: It Began With System of a Down

This is an embarrasing tidbit to admit but yeah, SOAD inspired a lot of Early Blood-Sun, hell, Hobbes was inspired by Daron Malakian, and Ernest inspired by good ol' Serj Tankian. (Early Ernest anyway)

The original story/lore was a race against time for Ernest to reclaim the throne to a kingdom of madness that lived underneath the earth-or the entire kingdom would have been erased but I scrapped it because the 'rightful king' trope did not seem right for the story.

The Great Flood and the Creation of Dragons

The ice mountains that enclosed Scorpiana/Bloodson had their snow and frost melted as the decade came to an end. The snow had turned to water and flooded the world, wiping away what little evolution the various creatures had progressed through. Very little survived, tiny critters that grew to fill the ocean soon grew and changed as the world had progressed past the Great Flood. They grew wings and could later fly, the rest stayed in the ocean and developed their own evolutionary line. Living in the void of the ocean, way below and away from the fast paced life of the Upworld. These creatures, despite their differences later on: would be known as sea-dragons. And their flying brethren would be credited for the name of ‘dragon’ or ‘draken’. Despite being the younger species.

The Star Calamity and the Creation of Magic

One night, flashing lights rose from the horizon, overlooking what would later be known as the Aku Mountains (or Mount Aku, either is acceptable.) It would later be known that these lights were stars that later crashed on to Mount Aku, spilling onto the mountain's crevice, the star’s power later spilled out onto the side of the mountain, and the water later mixing into the Great Aku River. Later, it would be discovered that the water had become contaminated with magic coming from the two Stars. The many animals that drank from the water would later evolve with either magic or magical properties. Dragons were the most susceptible to this mutation, as they reproduced only once a year and because their population would be very slow to rise--because of the magic, a lot of their young seemed to be healthier at birth and lived longer lives. A lot of the other animals also experienced this. And, soon, because of the magic now changing and evolving the world, it would not be long until some species learn how to not only use magic, but to utilize it as well.

The Discovery of Fire, and the Evolution of Magic and Mur

With magic now used by a lot of species in Scorpiana (due to evolutionary needs, a lot of species have developed hypersenses and super strength. Essentially, a lot of predators have changed and developed new hunting techniques. Especially for the new species of Others that had developed--the Mur. (“People--like in a general sense”) The Mur were a total of 7 or so separate species that seemed to have been affected from the magic that radiated onto the river water long ago, since then, Mur had taken several forms--depending on environment. Mur from the Southern region of Scorpiana were more tan and angular. And Mur that stemmed from the Northern region were chubbier and pale in comparison. Mur from the Western region were sleeker and built for water than those of the East, who came from a heavy forest region.

Not to say this is gospel and all of the Mur races were like this, a lot of Mur were built differently. But a lot of them had these themes.
